Abstract

The ability of communicating bad news to pacientes and their families is not considered today an optional ability; instead, minimizing its importance has contributed to becoming more important in the last years of dehumanized medicine (12). Being a doctor has the responsibility of being effective in communicating any type of news. We will be doing an analysis of different approaches in how to achieve this communication with bad news. The hospital scope has its own difficulties, (14) the efficiency of it offers the patients and its family the possibility of coping better difficult situations (14). We will explain some of the protocols of CBN like SPIKES, PENS, CONSOLE, COMFORT. There are studies that have documented that doctors have not had formal training in how to give bad news (13) so the idea of this article is having a practical and fast way to obtain that information.
