Abstract
There are currently several approaches and therapeutic measures available to treat a patient with gastric cancer. Gastrectomy is one of the surgical procedures used in clinical practice for its treatment. After this procedure, patients may present postoperative complications which are a challenge in the clinical setting, which put the health and life of the patient at risk. The correlation between biomarkers and inflammatory stage has been investigated and as this is related to the patient’s complications giving a positive response, thus widening the picture to be able to be a step ahead and to prevent a deterioration of the patient. In this text we can see how the levels of certain biomarkers are related and their relationship with complications that put the effectiveness and success of surgery at risk.
