Abstract

The Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) is one of the Personality Disorders with a high prevalence in the population, which uses frequently the public and private health services; because of the auto destructives coping strategies that presents and that causes risks against people’s life (like cutting, suicidal conducts) and their families (aggression and chaotic relationships).

The right diagnostic and the use of psychotherapy based on scientific evidence will permit the decrease of risks in people diagnosed with BPD, the increase of more skills adapted to their personality characteristics and the decrease of the assistance to emergency services.

The present clinic study case describes the diagnostic process executed on a female patient, with BPD, Other Non-Specific Depression Disorder and Panic Disorder in partial remission. As treatment, it was executed a brief psychotherapy with twelve sessions, where were applied in a major way techniques for the development of emotional regulation skills from the Behavioral-Dialectic Therapy, alongside with Behavioral-Cognitive techniques, for the decrease of the depressive symptomatology.
