Abstract
This bibliographic review article aims to identify the factors that may eventually influence the functional recovery of older adult patients after a hip fracture. It is concluded that the functional recovery process is multifactorial and can be positively or negatively influenced by factors such as age, previous functional status, nutritional status, cognitive status, the presence of depression, the presence of heart failure, prescribed medications , the fear of falling after the fracture, and the roles that the person has in everyday life.
