Abstract
Nutrition and the immune system are intimately related and their responses in each situation are conditioned by each from them. Amalnourished patient will present a decrease in immune response to infections and on the other hand the response immune to
infections leads to production of substances that have metabolic effects that increase nutritional requirements and for the
patient's nutritional status.
