Abstract

Polycystic ovarian syndrome is a complex pathology characterized by hyperandrogenism and anovulation, of which the origin and pathophysiology of it have not been fully known. Most women with PCOS have a very characteristic phenotype, with a variety of signs and symptoms that will have an impact on their daily lives. Its diagnosis is based on 3 fundamental criteria, which are polycystic ovarian morphology, oligomenorrhea or ovarian dysfunction, and hyperandrogenism. Approaching these patients in a comprehensive way, with lifestyle changes is the cornerstone of their treatment.
