Abstract
Addison's disease is the term used to refer to primary adrenal insufficiency. This condition is rare and is characterized by a chronic deficiency of glucocorticoids and / or mineralocorticoids. The main cause of this is autoimmune, but there can also be infectious, neoplasic, genetic, or iatrogenic etiologies. A high clinical suspicion is required for its diagnosis. Its treatment is based on the pharmacological replacement of deficient adrenal steroids.
