Abstract
Rapid sequence induction is a technique performed during anesthetic induction, and its main objective is to reduce the risks associated with bronchoaspiration, since gastric aspiration is considered the greatest risk during this technique, therefore it is necessary to evaluate the risk of bronchoaspiration presented by the patient since it is a high-risk procedure and the airways must be quickly and safely secured with the endotracheal tube, careful preparation and planning is carried out, adequate use of anesthetic drugs and correct muscle relaxation . In a critical patient, airway management is essential, the correct performance of the technique depends on the characteristics of the patient, the equipment, and the skill of the individual who performs it.
