Abstract
The high mortality in cancer patients has prompted the development of new therapeutic alternatives, among which immunotherapy takes special relevance, a type of treatment in which substances are used in order to stimulate the body's immune response to fight more efficiently some pathologies. This treatment option has shown more favorable results than other therapies, however, its implementation has been associated with acute kidney injury and nephrotoxicity that is mainly caused by an excessive immune response that can cause decreased renal blood flow, interstitial injury due to infiltrates. inflammatory or obstructive phenomena. Although these adverse effects do not occur with a high frequency, it is believed that the elements used in this type of therapy may be the cause of a significant percentage of kidney pathologies in patients receiving treatment.
