Abstract

In a young adult the glomerular filtration rate is approximately 120-130 mL / min / 1.73m2 of body surface area and declines progressively with age. In addition, the measurement of FG is important because it allows the early detection of patients with kidney disease, the application of early treatments, assess the effectiveness of the treatment and helps to verify when renal replacement therapy is necessary among others.
