Abstract

Grisel syndrome is a rare pathological entity, that usually is a complication the presents itself after an otolaryngologic surgical procedures or upper airway tract infection, particularly in pediatric patients, it consists on a non-traumatic atlantoaxial subluxation. The clinical presentation may be confused with other entities, nevertheless clinical suspicion should be high because of the potentially fatal consequences, even though treatment can be conservative in early stages or eventually require surgical interventions, both usually with an adequate evolution.
