Abstract
Hepatitis is one of the main causes of liver disease in the world, it has a high potential to cause morbidity and mortality to those who suffer from it. Hepatitis is an inflammatory disease that affects the liver, among the causes are reported infectious (viral or bacterial), immune or toxic. A bibliographic review is conducted aimed at the different hepatotropic viruses capable of producing hepatitis, detailing virology, epidemiology, serology and microbiological diagnosis, as well as the characteristics of vaccines available in the country.
